Georgian Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia said that the level of punishment for a number of traffic offenses would be raised in the country.
Gakharia cited the statistics according to which, in Georgia, for the three months of 2019, about 845.5 thousand administrative violations related to traffic regulations and more than 1.1 thousand traffic offenses were committed.
“The level of punishment for driving under the influence, speeding, driving through the halfway line and other violations will be raised, he said at a government hour in the parliament.
