Georgian Foreign Ministry vows close cooperation with new U.S. envoy

Georgian Foreign Ministry David Zalkaliani has welcomed  U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to appoint Kelly Degnan as new ambassador to Tbilisi.

He vowed a close cooperation with the new ambassador after all mandatory procedures are completed.

"She is the first U.S. ambassador to Georgia under Trump’s administration," Agenda.ge cited the official as saying.

Zalkaliani said that the U.S. is the strategic partner of Georgia and a key ally and the close cooperation will continue.
