Georgian Interior Ministry proposes tightening firearms legislation

The Georgian Interior Ministry has worked out a package of amendments to the legislation related to the tightening of responsibility for a series of actions related to firearms. In particular, it is proposed to transfer an act of loss of weapons into the category of criminal cases.

According to the amendments, a person may receive up to 6 years of imprisonment for illegal purchase and possession of firearms (except for hunting and sports), Georgia Online reports.
