Georgian Minister of Economy pledges nothing threatens the Anaklia project

Nothing threatens the Anaklia project, - Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, told journalists when commenting on filing charges against Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, InterPressNews reports.

Asked if Anaklia's project would be damaged by the fact that Mamuka Khazaradze was accused of money laundering, the Minister said the Anaklia project was not in danger and the project was a priority for the state.

"As we have repeatedly stated, the Anaklia project is a very high-level priority for our country. We definitely need a deep-water port in Anaklia, which has unprecedented support by the state and therefore, nothing threatens this project," Turnava said.

According to her, investors of the Anaklia port will be answered by the court and we should wait for the court decision.
