Georgian and Turkish Defence Ministers discusses Black Sea region security, Ukraine

The security environment in the Black Sea region and the crisis in Ukraine were discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between the Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze and his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar. 

The meeting focused on the importance of the West’s support for peace, stability and development in the region, the Georgian Defence Ministry said.

During the bilateral meeting in the framework of a NATO ministerial, Burchuladze thanked his counterpart for his support of Georgia. 

The officials also discussed Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations and the country’s contribution to international peacekeeping missions.
