Georgian authorities deny rumours on direct Moscow-Tbilisi flight

Georgia commented on the information about the alleged start of direct flights on the Moscow-Tbilisi route. The department clarified that direct air traffic have not yet been resumed.

Direct flights between Russia and Georgia have not been resumed, the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency said, commenting on the appearance on the Vnukovo airport website of information about the alleged launch of the Moscow-Tbilisi flight.

"We would like to emphasize that there is no direct regular air communication between Georgia and Russia, and the status quo of the current situation has not changed,"

- the ministry stressed.

The ministry drew attention to the fact that there were no requests from Moscow regarding the restoration of flights with Georgia, and the data posted on the website of the airport is false.

Other denials

Shortly after the incident, the airport explained that there had been a "technical failure" in the operation of the electronic scoreboard.

Georgian Airways, to which the non-existent flight was assigned, also denies the direct flight. The carrier emphasizes that it did not apply for the flight.
