Georgian authorities vow to prevent election-day unrest

There will be no revolution in Georgia on the day of municipal elections, Kakha Kaladze, Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party and Mayor of Tbilisi, stated.

"On October 4, the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia will win the elections, and we will celebrate the victory both in the capital and in all municipalities. There will be no revolution or coup d'etat", 

Kakha Kaladze said.

According to Kaladze, anyone who tries to violate the law on that day will be punished according to the law.

"If someone dares to go against the law, a very strict response will be made within the framework of the law. Let whoever wants to meet whomever they want",

Kaladze added.

He also promised citizens that the elections in the republic would be held in a calm atmosphere.

"We have various interesting information, however, our relevant agencies are working and I guarantee the population of our country that there will be peace in the country",

Kaladze said.
