Aviation and air defense high officials Giorgi Tsabadze and Sergo Ninua have resigned, InterPressNews reported.
According to acting aviation and air defense commander Sergo Ninua, he resigned in order to allow thorough conduct of investigation with regard to the allegations against them.
Giorgi Tsabadze and Sergo Ninua demand that all persons who voiced allegations against them be questioned.
Reports say Defense Minister Levan Izoria appointed Giorgi Tsabadze and Sergo Ninua so that they did not meet the required criteria.
In addition, according to the Public Broadcaster, they have obtained a document, in which the First Deputy Chief of General Staff, Brigadier General Vladimir Chachibaia asks the Minister to appoint the above-mentioned military personnel to the posts despite the fact that they cannot meet the criteria.
