Georgian director to attend Sydney Film Festival

Georgian filmmaker Ana Urushadze was included in a number of ten European women filmmakers which will attend the Sydney Film Festival this year.

Emily Atef will bring her award-winning 3 Days In Quiberon to Sydney, while Dutch director Nanouk Leopold will present her latest feature Cobain, about a boy trying to help his mother quit her self-destructive lifestyle.

Amongst the films in the section having their Australian premiere are The Heart, directed by and starring Fanni Metelius from Sweden. Also included is love triangle story The Marriage from Kosovan writer-director Blerta Zeqiri, and Georgian director Ana Urushadze’s Scary Mother about a woman searching for self-fulfillment, Screen Daily reported.

The 65th Sydney Film Festival runs from June 6-17.
