Georgian economy shows growth

According to the National Statistics Service of Georgia "Sakstat", real GDP growth in March 2022 amounted to 10.6% compared to last March.

Georgia's average GDP growth for the first quarter of this year was 14.4%. In 2021, according to preliminary data, Georgia's economic growth amounted to 10.4%.

Last March, growth was observed in the following sectors: electricity, gas, transport and warehousing, construction, hotels and restaurants, arts, recreation and entertainment, mining and manufacturing, Sakstat informs.

The projects implemented by the country's government help to maintain high rates of economic growth, which contributes to the creation of jobs and improving the welfare of the population, said Vakhtang Tsintsadze, head of the Department of Economic Analysis and Reforms of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. "It should be noted that the expansion of local production, the growth of exports and the recovery of tourism are the main factors for economic growth", he added.
