Georgian leaders extend condolences following Croatia earthquake

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia and Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani have extended their condolences following an earthquake in Croatia earlier today. 

"Very saddened to see the destruction from the earthquake in Croatia. I stand with the Croatian people in this difficult time and wish strength to the first responders on the scene," Zurabishvili has tweeted.

Gakharia has also said that Georgia 'stands together' with Croatian people. "Deeply saddened by the news of another powerful earthquake in Croatia. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a quick recovery to those injured. stands together with the friendly people of during these difficult times," he wrote.

Zalkaliani has also joined the other leaders: "Deeply saddened to hear about earthquake in #Croatia! Heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family & quick recovery to the injured!"

A magnitude 6.4 earthquake has struck central Croatia, with reports of many injuries and at least five deaths, including a child, BBC reports.
