Georgian police detain two persons in Marneuli clash

Police have detained two persons in the clash between the representatives of the ruling “Georgian Dream” party and the United Opposition in Imiri village, Marneuli district, InterPressNews reported.

InterPressNews was informed by the Internal Affairs Ministry that the two citizens physically and verbally abused each other. Therefore, they were detained under Article 173 of the Administrative Offences Code of Georgia (Disobedience to the Legal Orders or Instructions of Law Enforcement or Military Officers). 

The Ministry said that an investigation has been launched under Part I of 162 (1) Article of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving the violence inside the polling station, in the election commission placement area or the adjacent territory.
