The Emergency Management Service of the Georgian Interior Ministry said as a result of intensive search operations its rescuers had recovered the body of one individual buried in an avalanche in Georgia’s ski resort Bakuriani.
According to the service, about 200 firefighters and rescuers, border police helicopters, search and rescue drones, canine service and Georgian Defence Forces had been involved in the search operations.
Five individuals were travelling with the snowmobiles on March 28 when a mass of snow broke off one of the mountains and trapped one man, the remaining four managed to get out safely.
