Georgian rugby player banned after biting New Zealand rival

The Georgia rugby player Gurami Kandaurishvili who bit New Zealand under-20 star Mitchell Jacobson has been banned for nine weeks.

The Baby Blacks beat Georgia 55-0 in their world championship opener in Manchester on Wednesday.

The incident happened during a maul late in the match. That rules Kandaurishvili out of the rest of the world championship and the remainder of his ban will follow that, meaning he won't be able to play rugby again until October 17, Stuff.co.nz reports.
