Georgians over 50 to receive 100 GEL if vaccinated with booster shot

Georgian citizens over 50 years of age will receive 100 GEL (about $32) if they receive their third - 'booster' - shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, Chief of the Operational Staff of the Interagency Coordination Council Giorgi Gibradze said on Tuesday.

In updates to the government's promotion campaign, Gibradze also said the 200 GEL vaccination promotion campaign would continue in February. The campaign sees Georgian citizens over 50 receive 200 GEL once they receive their first jab against the virus.

Until mid-December, only individuals over 60 years of age were able to receive the 200-GEL bonus through the initiative, Agenda.ge reported.

Overall, 1,322,175 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,210,361 people have been fully vaccinated, amounting to 42.1% of the country’s adult population.
