US president Donald Trump has no recognizable strategy on Russia, Germany’s defence minister Ursula von der Leyen said.
"There is no recognizable strategy in the president’s approach to Russia," Ursula von der Leyen said in an interview with Spiegel.
"The problem with Helsinki is that nobody knows what was discussed or even agreed," the minister noted.
She urged NATO allies to respond calmly to Trump, and said that NATO’s position on Russia had not changed, despite Trump’s meeting in Helsinki.
"We of course want better relationships with Moscow, but the ball is in the Kremlin’s court in that regard," the Local cited the minister as saying.
