The Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, Gerd Muller, said that the government plans to increase the amount of financial aid to Turkey to solve the migration crisis from 36 million to 50 million euros in 2016.
However, he drew attention to the fact that, in the first place, the investment will be spent on the construction of schools, professional education and strengthening of municipal infrastructure in the border areas of Turkey.
"Turkey has accepted 2.5 million Syrian refugees. We have to give these people prospects," he said, adding that the EU has accepted 1.2 million migrants in the first nine months of 2015.
