This year Germany will complete the Patriot mission in Turkey. The German government is going to withdraw the SAM and about 260 soldiers from the mission area. The message was confirmed by the Defense Ministry spokesman of the Federal Republic of Germany.
NATO began the Patriot mission in Turkey in 2012 to protect it against a possible air attack from Syria. It is reported that the radar did not record a single signal of a possible invasion and at the end of 2014 the German side expressed the need to complete the mission.
