The German Federal Network Agency (BNA) intends to make as soon as possible a final decision on the request of the Nord Stream 2 operator, Nord Stream 2 AG, to exempt this pipeline from the EU Gas Directive, the representative of the agency, Fite Wolf, said.
According to the legislative amendment adopted in the EU, decisions on the withdrawal of gas pipelines from the directive must be taken before May 24. Nord Stream 2 AG filed the corresponding application. In January, a BNA spokesperson told the agency that a decision would be made by that date.
