Giorgi Kvirikashvili met with new president of the UEFA

Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili held an introductory meeting with the new President of Union of European Football Associations Aleksander Ceferin, Newsday Georgia reports.

The parties to the meeting discussed the prospects of deepening cooperation between Georgia and the UEFA. The conversation also touched upon the UEFA European Under-19 Championship that will take place in Georgia in 2017. It was hoped that Georgia would be a good host of the European championship.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili congratulated Aleksander Ceferin on being elected as the President of the UEFA and wished him success. During the meeting it was emphasized that Georgia is the first country Aleksander Ceferin paid an official visit to after being elected to the post. General Secretary of UEFA Theodore Theodoridis is also visiting Georgia.
