Global COVID-19 cases surpassed 550 million on Tuesday, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
The global case count amounted to 550,055,230, with 6,340,167 deaths worldwide.
The United States reported 87,886,885 cases and 1,017,915 deaths, both the highest counts around the world.
India recorded the world's second largest caseload of 43,531,650, followed by Brazil with 32,535,923 cases.
Countries with more than 20 million cases also include France, Germany and UK.
