Since the beginning of the current year Kazakhstan increased grain exports by 24% in comparison with the same period last year, Kazakh Agriculture Vice Minister Saparhan Omarov said.
"Since the beginning of the current year more than 4.9 million tons of grain, including flour in grain equivalent, have been imported, which is 961 thousand tonnes or 24% more than in the same period last year," TASS cited him as saying.
The total export potential, according to the deputy minister, is estimated at 7.5 million tonnes, while in 2015 6.6 million tonnes of grain were delivered to foreign markets.
