Grenade explosion hits Jammu and Kashmir

A grenade explosion at a bus stand in the Indian city of Jammu has injured at least 18 people, police said.

Authorities called for calm following the explosion this morning, which comes weeks after a Pakistan-based militant group killed 40 paramilitary police in disputed Kashmir in an attack which almost sparked a war.

"I request everybody to maintain calm. We are chasing all leads," Reuters cited the city's police chief M.K. Sinha as saying.

Police said the grenade had rolled under bus after being hurled at the station.
