Administrative detention –the so-called 'guardhouse' – may be abolished soon in the Georgian army and penalties for violation of internal order and discipline may be introduced instead of it. The Minister of Defence of Georgia, Tina Khidasheli, intends to present an appropriate initiative to the Georgian Parlament. She spoke about it at a meeting of the parliamentary committee for defense and security.
She explained that a study that was conducted over six months demonstrated the low efficiency of the guardhouses.
