Ex-Turkish President Abdullah Gul, speaking at the 19th Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul, has stated that relations between his country and Russia should be restored as soon as possible
"Being a politician who contributed to the development of multi-faceted relations with Russia over the course of many years, I believe in the importance of this partnership for the two peoples, stability and safety in Eurasia. I want to call for a return to the previous state of Turkish-Russian relations, revive them and even develop without wasting time. This is important not only for the both countries, but also for the whole region in general. It will facilitate the solution of existing problems and prevent new ones. I believe that such a step will bring positive results,'' RIA Novosti cites him as saying.
