Gunfight in Nagorno-Karabakh: five Armenian soldiers killed

The Azerbaijani army prevented attempts by Armenian armed forces to commit a diversion on the Agdam-Khojavend direction of the Karabakh front, the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.

According to information, after continuing mortar attacks from Armenian positions in the direction of the Agdam and Kholjavend districts the Azerbaijani command decided to inflict a surgical strike on the Armenian posts and trenches. As a result of prevention of the diversion five Armenian saboteurs were killed and eight wounded

The report noted that the Azerbaijani side gave the command to cease fire, so that the opposing party could bring their dead bodies and critically injured soldiers out.

As a result of a brief gunfight three soldiers of the Azerbaijani army were also injured, after recieving first aid they returned to their unit.
