 Halal Expo 2016 summed up in Moscow

The 17th Moscow International Exhibition of the Halal Goods and Services Moscow Halal Expo 2016, which took place in Moscow and was attended by 200 companies from 20 countries and 25 Russian regions, was summed up. The exhibition and Moscow Halal Economy Forum was attended by the delegates from 40 countries.

According to the chairman of the organizing committee of the event, Rushan Abbyasov, initially being created as a project with a high socio-cultural component, with the growing number of the participants and the involvement of more players in the Halal market, the exhibition Moscow Halal Expo is being reoriented into a  business platform as it is required by the time.

In the welcoming speech to the participants and organizers of the Moscow Halal Expo 2016 Russian Federation Minister of Agriculture, Alexander Tkachev, said that within 7 years of work of the exhibition in Moscow the level of the specialized production has increased for several times in the country. "Today the domestic enterprises successfully conquer the overseas markets, delivering products labeled ‘halal’ to UAE, Iran, Egypt and many other countries. And our foreign partners, in turn,  appreciate highly the products from Russia",  he said.

In turn the chairman of the Russian Muftis Council, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdinov,  in his welcoming speech noted that halal has long been not just a product, designed to meet the Qur'anic norms, but also a symbol of safety and quality. "Our common goal is to be the best example in any field of activity,"  the head of RMC called.

The representative of the Islamic Development Bank, Alim Yahya Rehman, visiting the exhibition Moscow Halal Expo for the second year in a row, drew attention to the significant increase of activities in scope and content. "Without exaggeration, we can say that the Moscow Halal Expo has become one of the most prestigious annual events on the halal global market", the representative of the Islamic Development Bank said at the opening of the Exhibition. According to him, the Islamic Development Bank has always supported the program for the development of the halal industry and is ready to actively participate in such programs and promote the development of the Islamic finance in Russia.

The International Exhibition Moscow Halal Expo 2016 was visited by the director general of the Office for Standardization and Metrology of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Abdulla Abdulkader Al Maini, the head of International Cooperation Department of Commerce and Industrial Chamber of Dubai (Dubai Chamber), Omar Khan, the  member of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce of Bahrain, Khaled Al Amin, and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Bahrain to Russia, Ahmed Al-Saati,  Indonesian ambassador in Russia, Vahid Supriyadi, Brunei ambassador in Russia, Durassalam Khain Hashim, Chargé d'affaires of the Republic of Yemen in Russia, Abdullah Al-Aqua, the head of the Malaysian Trade Mission to Russia, Zainudin Jalil, the first Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce of Afghanistan, Alokolay Han Zhang, the chairman of Halal industry of Kazakhstan, Marat Sarsenbayev, the deputy chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Tajikistan, Odil Sang, the member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Sultan Hamzaev, and other distinguished guests.

According to reports of the OIC, the global halal market is estimated at $ 2.3 trillion. The food occupies about 67% of this segment, and the market of pharmaceutical products - about 22%, and 11% - the market of cosmetics and perfumes. According to the managing partner  of the Halal Expo, Madina Kalimullina, Russia increasingly takes positions on the global halal market, offering as the halal food, as well as the solutions in the field of the halal medicine and cosmetology.
