The Karabakh conflict parties should cease hostilities and observe a truce, a statement issued in Brussels by the head of EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini reads.
‘’The reports of the fighting along the contact line cause deep concern. I appeal to both sides to cease hostilities immediately and to respect the truce. The parties should show restraint and avoid further actions and statements that could lead to escalation of the situation,’’ TASS quotes her as saying.
The document also states that ‘the EU fully supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group and the three co-chairs.’ "We expect that both sides will strictly observe the ceasefire, refrain from using force and renew the efforts for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,’’ the head of EU diplomacy concluded.
