Yesterday, European Parliament Chairman Martin Schulz visited Tehran on a one-day visit, during which he met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the speaker of the Iranian parliament Ali Larijani.
The head of the European Parliament said that the agreement on the nuclear program represents a new phase in the expansion of ties between Iran and European Union: "It has been proved that diplomacy is the best way to resolve differences and achieve mutual interests, the agreement between Iran and the 'six' is a model of successful diplomacy," RIA Novosti quoted Schultz as saying.
The head of the European Parliament also acknowledged that Iran plays an important role in the settlement of regional conflicts.
