The head of North Ossetia Tamerlan Aguzarov has passed away at a Moscow hospital, Interfax cited the press service of the head of the republic as saying.
Earlier it was reported that Tamerlan Aguzarov was undergoing medical treatment for pneumonia in Moscow.
Tamerlan Aguzarov was appointed as acting head of the region on June 5th 2015 by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The parliament elected Aguzarov as the head of the Republic of North Ossetia on September 13th with 66 votes. He officially took office on the same day.
Tamerlan Aguzarov was born on June 14th 1963 in the town of Alagir (North Ossetia). He graduated from the North Ossetian State University named after K.L. Khetagurov (1987) and the Moscow State Academy of Law (2004).
In 1995-1999 he was a deputy of the Parliament of North Ossetia of the first convocation.
On January 4th 1999 he was appointed the chairman of the Supreme Court of North Ossetia. He was appointed the chairman of the Supreme Court of North Ossetia on November 30, 2006.
Aguzarov was elected to the State Duma from the 'United Russia' party on December 4th 2011, he entered the Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption and the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Construction.
The chairman of the government Vyacheslav Bitarov was appointed the acting head of North Ossetia, TASS reports referring to the press service of the head of the republic and the government.
