Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalın has arrived in Damascus for talks with Ahmed al-Sharaa. The two sides will discuss security issues.

The head of Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Ibrahim Kalın, came to the Syrian capital, Damascus.

According to media reports, Kalın intends to meet with the leader of the new Syrian government, Ahmed al-Sharaa. The talks are expected to address security issues in Syria and the situation in the region.

Syria had agreed with the US on a plan for normalization in the south of the Arab Republic. An agreement with Israel, brokered by Washington, is planned to be signed.
