Russian Ambassador to Syria Aleksander Kinschak has stated that a delegation of top Russian officials may arrive in Damascus in the near future.
"I believe that in the near future Damascus may be visited by senior Russian officials. If and when it happens all the necessary information will be made public,'' he said.
According to the diplomat, Russia and Syria maintain intensive contacts with each other, RBC reports.
Recall that Bashar Assad visited Moscow in October 2015. It was his first visit abroad since the beginning of military operations in Syria.
