Senior officers have been detained in Armenia on May 30th in the framework of criminal proceedings on the fact of abuse of power, which entails heavy consequences, the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the country informed today.
Accusations were brought against former head of the Department of Armenian Armed Forces weaponry, Major General Melsiku Chilingaryan, former head of the department for provision with chemicals, engineering and intelligence agents of the Department of logistics at the Armenian Armed Forces, Colonel Mher Papian and Colonel Armen Margaryan.
"According to preliminary investigation, the officials bought various kinds of goods through abuse of their official positions at higher than the market prices. In some cases, the purchases were unclaimed,’’ RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Investigative Committee.
