The North Ossetian horse theater 'Narty' will represent Russia at the international festival of horse riding and equestrian sports, Cheval Passion, in France.
"We have a great responsibility, because we are the first Russian collective to participate in the festival in its existence, that is, in 31 years," the theater's artistic director Aslan Galaov said. According to him, this is the most authoritative international festival of equestrian art.
The theater has prepared new costumes for the performance, and also strengthened the stunt part in the performance of national mass dance, Simd, and dance invitation, Khonga, with horses. Khonga will be performed solo by a rider on a horse to Ossetian music. Simd will be performed by all nine horse-members of the theater simultaneously.
The festival will be held from January 20th to 24th in Avignon. The program includes classical competitions on training of horses, polo and jumping. As part of Cheval Passion there will be a salon,at which the best breeds of horses will be presented, TASS reports.
