Hossein Dehghan: Light-weight planes forerunners of larger ones

Iranian Defense Minister, Brig. Gen. Hossein Dehghan addressed a ceremony during a visit to defense industries exhibition where he announced new achievements of the industries; "Ghaher-313 and Kosar-88 are new developments in trainer jet category and forerunners of heavier planes; the present exhibition displays guided drone known as Mohajer-6; Nasir and Fakour missiles will also be among the unveiled products," he added. 

"Nasir is a cruise missile; Kowsar-88 is an all-metal plane, but Ghaher-313 is made of composite material, and belong to 4th or 5th generation of planes," Dehghan detailed. "Jet trainers will meet the requirements of training schools. Both planes could act as operational as logistical units; these two will provide a platform from which the defense industries will open a great vista before itself where design and implementation of more complex operation replication will be possible."

"Defense industries works on jet engines for heavier planes, but currently we import these engines and other parts are developed indigenously; other products of the exhibition include Saba-43 copter and Karrar Tank, which are fully domestically developed," Mehr news agency quoted Dehghan as saying.
