According to the Weightlifting Federation of Georgia, due to the deprivation of the Armenian weightlifter, Hripsime Khurshudyan, of all medals won since 2008, the gold medal of the European Weightlifting Champion was handed over to Georgian athlete Anastasia Gottfried.
Thus, Gottfried, who has been competing for Georgia since 2015, has become a two-time European Champion in addition to being a World Champion.
Recall that Khurshudyan was stripped off all the medals of the last ten years of competition due to doping allegations.
