In honor of the celebration of the 2000th anniversary of Derbent its residents have decided to draw a carpet fabric measuring 1.5 thousand square meters. The initiator of this idea was the Ministry of Culture of Dagestan. Ibrahim Khalil Supyanov prepared a sketch, which was based on patterns and ornaments of old carpet works.
Teachers and students of the Jemal Dagestan art school started practical implementation of this idea.
It is expected that by September 19th the carpet will be completed at the central square of Derbent, RIA Dagestan reports.
