Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar met with newly-appointed U.S. Special Representative in Syria James Jeffrey on Tuesday in Ankara to discuss developments in Syria, Daily Sabah reports.
The two were expected to discuss the looming military operation in northwestern Idlib and Syria's political process.
Akar told Jeffrey of Turkey's discomfort with the PKK's Syrian branch People's Protection Units (YPG) operating in the region. The U.S. has provided continued military support to the YPG terrorist group.
