Hundreds of Russian citizens who went to Syria to fight on the side of the terrorist organization ISIS, died during the fighting, the head of the General Administration for Combating Extremism of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Timur Valiulin, said.
He added that at the moment the citizens who left the country to participate in the war on the side of the militants are being counted, Interfax reported.
"The evidence base on almost two thirds of those who left was created, criminal cases were initiated," Valiulin said at a meeting of the presidential council for human rights in Moscow.
