Hungarian authorities have begun preparations for the organization of the newly announced meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán confirmed.

Orbán revealed he ordered the establishment of an organizing committee for the bilateral meeting yesterday evening, confirming preparatory work is already underway.

The Hungarian leader provided preliminary timing, indicating the presidential meeting could occur approximately one week after the upcoming Russian and US Foreign Ministers' talks.

Orbán additionally announced plans to conduct a telephone conversation with President Putin today.

The meeting planning follows yesterday's two-hour phone discussion between Putin and Trump, with Orbán immediately announcing Budapest's readiness to host it and characterizing the development as positive for peace efforts.
