The prosecutor's office of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has launched an investigation into crimes that may have been committed during the armed conflict in South Ossetia in 2008.
"Crimes within the jurisdiction of the ICC and allegedly committed in South Ossetia and Georgia in the period from July 1st to October 10th of 2008 are subject to investigation," - TASS cites the statement of the court.
