It is not yet time to name specific suspects of crimes in South Ossetia in 2008, ICC reports

Currently it is still premature to talk about any specific suspects of war crimes and crimes against humanity during the conflict in South Ossetia in August 2008, the representative of the International Criminal Court, which started its investigation last week, stated.

"On the basis of all the collected data, those who may be responsible for the alleged crimes mentioned by the prosecutor will be identified. While assessing criminal responsibility, the prosecutor has a legal obligation to investigate both incriminating circumstances and justifications. Any possible warrant for the arrest or a writ of summons will be issued by independent judges of the ICC," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
