Iceland and Serbia qualify for World Cup 2018

Serbia reached the World Cup with a 1-0 home win over Georgia, thanks to substitute Aleksandar Prijovic’s 74th-minute goal on Monday.

It is the second time Serbia have reached the finals as an independent nation, having been knocked in the group stages of the 2010 tournament in South Africa and then missing the next three major international soccer championships.

Iceland have qualified for the World Cup for the first time in their history after beating Kosovo 2-0 in Reykjavik last night, the Scotsman reported.

In addition, last night Turkey and Finland played out a 2-2 draw in Turku. Paulus Arajuuri and Joel Pohjanpalo scored for Finland while Turkey got both goals from Cenk Tosun in Turku.
