Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Sunday opened the International Defence Exhibition and Conference – Idex 2017 – at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, The National reports.
They watched a military demonstration that included explosions, jet fighters and helicopters, together with Sudanese president Omar Al Bashir, according to the Associated Press.
A total of 1,235 companies are taking part, a 3 per cent increase from 2015, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, and Rostec. More than 100,000 visitors are expected to attend over the course of the event.
