According to the decision of Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, Lieutenant General Igor Korobov has become the head of the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. The new head of the department was introduced to the personnel. He is to take office on February 5th Tass reports. Earlier, Korobov was the deputy head of the Chief Intelligence Directorate.
Recall that the head of the Chief Intelligence Directorate was Colonel-General Igor Sergun who passed away on January 3th 2016 at the age of 58.
