Ilham Aliyev: Baku expects geographic coordinates of Zangezur corridor from Yerevan

One of the issues that the Armenian side needs to clarify is the Zangezur Corridor, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said, while receiving Toivo Klaar, European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus on Tuesday.

He noted that Azerbaijan would complete the construction of the railway to the border with Armenia in 2023, and expressed regret that the Armenian side has not begun work on a feasibility study for its part of the railway yet, which could slow down the process.

Speaking about the highway, the head of state stressed that Azerbaijan is "carrying out active construction work", and most of them have already been completed, so Baku hopes that "the highway to the border with Armenia will be ready" by the end of next year.

"But, unfortunately, on April 6, at the meeting in Brussels, the Prime Minister of Armenia did not indicate the geographical coordinates of this road. I hope that we will receive them soon", Interfax-Azerbaijan quoted Ilham Aliyev.
