The 18th meeting of the Conference of the Special Services of Turkic States has started today in Baku, where President Ilham Aliyev delivered a welcome speech.
The President expressed his confidence that the discussions during the conference "will facilitate further interaction between the intelligence agencies of our countries, greater coordination and strengthen efforts in order to ensure the national security of our countries.’’
The President underlined that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict threatens the security of the whole region. "It is a violation of international law. The UN Security Council, the highest international body, has adopted four resolutions demanding an immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian occupying forces from Azerbaijani territory. These resolutions aren’t being fulfilled. We demand the implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions. The Azerbaijani public is very surprised, but it is outraged by the fact that in some cases the UN Security Council resolutions are carried out in one day. In our case, more than 20 years have already passed, but these resolutions remain on paper. It is a policy of double standards, it is contempt for international law, a lack of respect for the decision of the highest international body – the UN Security Council,’’ he said.
