Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva attend tree-planting campaign in Shamakhi district

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, first lady Mehriban Aliyeva have attended a tree-planting campaign in Shamakhi district.

They have also viewed the landscaping work carried out around the Shahkhandan tomb.

Today, the environmental campaign has started in Azerbaijan to mark the 650th birth anniversary of great Azerbaijani poet Imadaddin Nasimi. On the initiative of Azerbaijan’s First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, 650,000 trees to be planted in the republic on December 6.
