General Debate of the 72nd Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations has opened in New York. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, first lady Mehriban Aliyeva and Leyla Aliyeva attended the event.
General Debate was opened by Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres.

A state banquet has been also held at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York, which was attended by Ilham Aliyev.
Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva also attended a reception in connection with the 72nd Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, hosted by Donald Trump and his wife.
