Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Frank-Walter Steinmeier on his victory as Germany's new president.
“We attach great importance to Azerbaijan's relations with Germany. I would like to note with satisfaction that the close cooperation between the two countries in bilateral and multilateral formats is dynamically developing today,” APA cited the president as saying.
Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that the sides will further "take joint efforts to strengthen friendly ties and continue a mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields".
"I wish you robust health, happiness and success in your activities for welfare of the friendly people of Germany,” Ilham Aliyev added.
